Meet Melissa
Hi everyone, I’m Melissa, the owner and groomer behind Snout & About Grooming!
I’ve always had a love for dogs, and grooming has given me the opportunity to combine that love with something I genuinely enjoy doing everyday. In 2024, I graduated from the New Jersey School of Dog Grooming, where I received hands-on training in professional dog grooming and completed a safety course as part of my education.
After gaining experience in the grooming industry, I decided to take the leap and create something of my own.
I wanted to create a grooming experience that feels a little different— one where your dog gets my full attention from start to finish. I also wanted to create an experience that felt cozy and relaxing, like home on wheels. With mobile grooming there’s no waiting around, no cages, no multiple dogs being groomed at once, and it’s right outside your home.
My love for this business is especially personal because of my own senior mini schnauzer, Sebastian. He’s been by my side since I was 8 years old and is the inspiration behind the face you see on the logo! As a senior dog, he’s also taught me how important patience, gentleness, and understanding can be when caring for our older pups.
I know that leaving your dog with someone new can feel a little nerve-wracking, especially if they’re nervous, anxious, or simply not a fan of grooming. My goal is to make every visit as calm, comfortable, and positive as possible while treating every dog with the patience and care I would want for my own.
Whether your dog needs a full haircut, a bath and brush, or just a little freshening up, I’m here to make sure they leave looking —and hopefully feeling!— their best.

Built From Scratch
From an empty van to a salon on wheels.
Snout & About was built from the ground up with one goal in mind: creating a comfortable, clean, and stress-free grooming experience for every dog who steps through the door.
What started as an empty cargo van slowly became a fully equipped mobile grooming salon. We designed and built everything from the electrical and plumbing to the layout, storage, equipment, and finishing touches.
It was a lot of hard work and dedication, a lot of learning, and definitely a lot of long days. There were plenty of challenges and set-backs — but seeing our vision come to life made every bit worth it.
This small business was built on a foundation of hard work, love, and a dream — and we’re so excited to finally share it with all of you.
